let's run away...

O hey there, I seem to have taken another longer than intended blogging break.

I don't really know if I've mentioned my work much, but among other tasks, I helped to distribute over 750 holiday gifts to the children in our programs. It was very much worth it, but took all of my time the week before Christmas. In case you were wondering, 3-10 year olds are the easiest to find presents for. I have no idea what is age appropriate for a 2 year old, and we all know how picky we were as teenagers.

Post-gift distribution, I ran away to lovely, snowy, winter wonderland New Hampshire/home to spend a week with parents and sister. (Don't be too jealous, I worked from home). Lots of ice skating and little cross country skiing and no blogging... My house is basically in the woods, it wouldn't be right to blog from there. right?

Anyway, here's an outfit from a just before the holidays:

In pretty big news, for me, I cut my hair. a lot. shorter than it's been possibly ever (I'm a long hair girl). So take a good look in the new few posts and then it will be short hair Sasha! Or just look back at old posts if you so need too...

matchy matchy

I found these great Hue sweater tights at Nordstrom Rack that just so happened to match my scarf:

Happy Weekend everyone!

gray day

What better to do on gray, rainy day than blog, especially when I'm about 2 weeks behind in posts? Answer: bake bread and pumpkin doughnuts and do much needed laundry, which is what I've been doing most of today. And blog, when you have a perfect gray outfit to post.

This is what I wore on my way to New York for Thanksgiving:

 Practicing my city walk??

Happy Sunday everyone:-)

Work & Play

Sometimes, I like to change my outfit many times a day just for fun (and because I'm indecisive). Usually, there's not time for that so I try to make my work outfit and after-work outfit without much change:

This could be lesson #236 in why I love my black skirt and jean shorts, and why they're closet necessities.

In other news, I am getting so into the holiday spirit (I'm a fan of anything that is an excuse to get excited, decorate and buy presents) and it finally snowed last night. (If it's going to be 20 degrees or less, I prefer white pretty cold).

unbundled

I wore this a few weeks ago to meet lovely friends in Boston, when it was still warm-ish out:

Not the best pictures - I took them after a full day of fun!

It's consistently below freezing and I started wearing by long, big, puffy warm coat. Pictures of me bundled up and ready for a walk to work to come soon:-)

the magic of scarf-blankets

I have a little (really short) story for you all: last year when I was waiting at rehearsal for my dance group, I was wrapped in a pashmina to be warm and cozy (necessary at late night rehearsals) and someone said, jealously, "you look so cozy, I'm going to bring a blanket tomorrow."

I had unintentionally realized the power of the pashmina-scarf-blanket-best-garmet-ever!

The scarf in these pictures is almost to thick to be a scarf and o-so warm and toasty. It's the most acceptable way to go to work in cold weather and feel like you put work clothes on and got back into bed instead of going to the office.

Time for real bed!

wishlist: Loft Sweaters

Just did a little online browsing and came across these sweaters from Ann Taylor Loft - a little detail and not too pricey:

$59.50

$49.50

Also on my wishlist is something fun and glittery but not solely for the holiday season. Bit hard to find lately...

last winter's class, this winter's work day

This is essentially a repeat of my often worn sweater vest and scarf from last winter - just dressed up for class clothes to work appropriate:

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! I'm so excited for Worcester's Start at the Station tomorrow - and for my lovely friends to visit for the event:-)

fall colors, summer vest

I wanted to wear this jean vest which I would generally think of as a summer item - here's my fall approach:

Tomorrow is World AIDS Day - just one of many days to remember that so many people are struggling to fight a disease that we don't yet have a cure for. As you all probably know, HIVS/AIDS is preventable and the symptoms can be treated. ACT AWARE and help ensure everyone is informed about prevention and has access to necessary medicine. (And on a lighter note, I'll be pull out the minimal amount of red in my closet for tomorrow's outfit). If you're in the Massachusetts area or just for fun, check out my organization's World AIDS Day banner
