This outfit is from a week ago, but is a good look to match my delightful weekend. (Although, it was so hot this weekend that the moment I returned home, I put on tiny shorts and a tank top and sat in front of the fan...)

Anyway, this was my last weekend before starting full-time work and it was a perfect summer weekend. I went to a new bar with a couple of lovely ladies, walked to the farmer's market and biked to the thrift store, met a high school friend for dinner, had a lazy Sunday, and grilled a delicious dinner with friends.

a few of the things I like about summer

I just got home from the African American and Juneteenth festival - a delightful sunny day in the park with music, dance, delicious food, crafts, and a community celebration of African American culture and the end of slavery. It was great. These pictures are from a couple days ago, when it was also sunny and summery, and I biked to work!

I'm heading home for Father's Day, enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!

new found old

My lovely friend Lindsay has acquired my old purple pants - a one time favorite that I begrudgingly admitted hasn't been worn in quite some time. Paired with her new bag, it was a perfect outfit:

The stripes go so well with the purple!

fun new things

All sorts of new things...
Blogger has new templates - what do you think of our layout?

I just stumbled across this shop - Spotted Moth - with really cute things. Two of my favorites:

Draped to a T Blouse                                  Maraschino Dress
Both work and life acceptable!

And this great blog with a recipe for homemade strawberry ice cream using Greek yogurt - I'm going to try it with the non-fat kind.

I'm wearing a favorite summer outfit and planning to bike to work this today (I'm only working the afternoon, delightful schedule), so I should finally have outfit pictures later.

onward!

Blogging has been rather sparse, has it not? Well, dear Sasha has a full time job now, so she must be too busy to blog. I, on the other hand, am completely unemployed and living at home for the time being. Thus, I have looked pretty much exactly like this for the past 2 weeks:

Striped Gap dress (I basically live in it), sandals, fedora to cover uncombed pool hair, no makeup at all. It's a comfy existence, but a boring one fashion-wise. But the tides turned today! I had a job interview, so I had to clean up and actually choose a nice ensemble. What a relief!

I was going to go outside and have some nice scenery in the pictures, but it is SO EFFING HOT. And with the blazer, I would have gotten all sweaty and shiny, which is not a good look (or smell) for a job interview.

I have to admit something: I borrowed this shirt and blazer from my mom. What can I say? She is a stylish and professional lady. Just the look I was going for. Combined with a skirt my friend made and my now favorite shoes (from the TJ Maxx clearance rack, thankyouverymuch), I hope I looked the part!

Turns out I have to go in for another interview, so I get to pick out another outfit. Whatever shall I wear?

rainy day summer wishes

It's a cold and dreary day, but here are a few pretty summer things:

This cute slightly embellished tee from Target comes in the pretty pattern above and many other colors. On sale for $7 right now! (Usually $10, so a good deal always).

I've had my eye on this Tulle skirt for a while now, but it's $55 and not on sale (yet?!)

Another sort of embellished tee, but I love the little twist. On sale for $28.

Have a good night everyone!

cruising

These pictures are 2 weeks old, oops! Turns out all of the little things I planned to do during my month of not working full time add up to being pretty busy. (Plus I haven't had internet for the last week).

Anyway, Clark has this pretty fabulous week before graduation with all sorts of fun senior events. One is a nighttime cruise is Boston harbor:

It was perfect weather! We had lots of fun relaxing outside and dancing inside.
